Arsenal’s Aubameyang vents at ‘hostage’ situation in airport on Gabon duty

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has admitted to feeling like a hostage at a Gambia airport. The Gabon forward and his colleagues were forced to wait inside the building for around six hours before they were able to continue their journey ahead of their Monday evening fixture. Aubameyang was keen to show the wider public what was happening by live tweeting their situation, and he has even accused the hosts of trying to intimidate his team before their clash. Gabon take on Gambia as the 31-year-old looks to help his side qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations having missed out in 2019.
