Emergency European Super League meeting 'tonight' as clubs drop out of project

The European Super League’s 12 teams are set to meet to discuss disbanding the European Super League. Plans for the breakaway league appeared to have unravelled within 48 hours of the announcement that 12 teams including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham would be taking part. Governing bodies have threatened bans, fans have protested while players, managers and pundits have all spoken against the plans. The Blues and the Premier League leaders have since reportedly started “preparing documentation” to withdraw from the ESL amid protests outside Stamford Bridge.
