Former Arsenal defender Pascal Cygan celebrates his 47th birthday today and remains one of the club's biggest transfer flops in the modern era. The French defender arrived at Arsenal with an excellent reputation from his previous club Lille, but could not replicate such consistent displays while with the Gunners. Lacking in pace, Cygan was often exposed by the quickest players in the division and was not able to truly establish himself as a reliable figure in defence.
