Arsenal fans have slammed Mikel Arteta for a 'sackable offence' when they needed a goal against Villarreal. The Gunners were sent crashing out of the Europa League at the semi-finals after losing 2-1 on aggregate. The damage was done in the first leg in Spain, despite Nicolas Pepe grabbing an away goal. It meant that Arsenal only had to win 1-0 to overturn the result and set up a Europa League final against Manchester United. But a lacklustre display in front of goal saw them limp out of the competition, putting Arteta under serious pressure.
