Emmanuel Petit won £17,000 in casino slot machine week after lifting World Cup

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit won £17,000 on a casino slot machine just one week after lifting the World Cup with France in 1998. Petit had scored Les Bleus' third goal of their 3-0 win over reigning champions Brazil at the Stade de France in Paris, finishing off a stoppage time counter attack with a low finish into the bottom corner. It capped a trophy-laden season for the former Monaco star, as he had already won both the Premier League and FA Cup with Arsenal that year.
