Arsene Wenger Admits Arsenal Almost Missed Out On Patrick Vieira
It has been reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has spoken of bringing Patrick Vieira to the club from Inter Milan. It was only thanks to a last-minute phone call from then-incoming manager Wenger that convinced the midfielder to pick London over Ajax, the Gunners boss revealed today. “I knew him very well because he played his first game with Cannes against Monaco in a post-season friendly,' Wenger told Arsenal Player. “He played against one of my players who was quite tough and he dominated him physically.
