Sources told N FC last month that Arsenal were confident of signing the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder this summer after making him one of their top transfer targets. Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl confirmed earlier this week that the German club received an offer for Xhaka, but declined to name the interested party and insisted that no agreement had yet been reached.
