Huge: Arsene Wenger Names Spaniard As New Captain
Arsene Wenger is set to name a surprise candidate for the captains armband according to The Star, with Santi Cazorla to be handed the responsibility for the Liverpool tie and potentially for the remainder of the season. Cazorla, who has captained the side on occasion in the wake of Mikel Arteta and Per Mertesacker's absences last season, led the side out against Vikings FK in the recent friendly thumping. The midfielder is thought to be preferred over Petr Cech purely as Wenger likes to have an outfield captain. Laurent Koscielny also seemed a very strong candidate, however The Star's report should be taken with a pinch of salt considering no official announcement has been made just yet...
