Report: Arsenal Willing To Let Club Captain Leave On Loan
Reports indicate that Arsenal are set to send Per Mertesacker out on loan in an attempt to prove the centre-back's fitness. The German has just six months left on his current contract and the club are eager to see the 32-year-old in action before offering him a new deal (via The Times). It's rare to see rumours of a club sending their captain out on loan but that is exactly what Arsenal are reportedly looking to do. The Times reports that the Gunners are willing to let Per Mertesacker leave the Emirates on a short-term deal in an attempt to prove his fitness.
