Arsenal will not allow Per Mertesacker to leave the club on loan for the remainder of the season despite rumours of a loan move, according to The Mirror. What's the story? Mertesacker has not played a single minute after missing the first half of the campaign with a knee injury that he suffered in pre-season. The 32-year-old is on his way back to full fitness, but it is not yet certain when the centre-back will be available to feature in Arsene Wenger’s team.
