The centre-back went off injured during Arsenal’s final game of the season against Everton. And he will now face a race against time to be fit for the start of next season after Arsene Wenger revealed he will miss up to eight weeks. Arsenal are already without Laurent Koscielny after he was sent off against Everton and Shkodran Mustafi is yet to return to training putting his place in doubt. And Gabriel’s extended absence means Arsenal will be short at the back on Saturday.
