Manchester United are plotting a £100million bid for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale. Jose Mourinho has claimed the Red Devils’ pursuit of the Wales international is over. But that has not stopped The Sun saying Mourinho has demanded Ed Woodward throw £100m at Real to convince them to sell. It is said Mourinho thinks a deal can be done - with a weekly wage of £500,000 also seen as a way of luring Bale to Old Trafford. Real are said to have told United that Bale can be signed, but only if they are given sufficient time to land a replacement.
