Olivier Giroud rejects Marseille transfer: Arsenal striker wants to honour contract
Since joining Arsenal in 2012, Giroud has had his critics but the French striker’s goal record - 98 in 228 games - is more than respectable. However the 30-year-old faces a fresh battle for his place following the signing of international team-mate Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon in a club record deal. Giroud also faces competition from Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck and with the World Cup coming up next summer, is understood to be reluctant to spend too much time on the bench.
