Arsenal to offer Mathieu Debuchy as makeweight for Jonny Evans?

Arsenal are reportedly considering offering defender Mathieu Debuchy as a makeweight in a deal to sign West Bromwich Albion centre-back Jonny Evans. The Daily Star reports that the Gunners will also table £10m as part of the offer in order to bring the Baggies defender to the Emirates. Arsenal are allegedly the front runners for Evans's signature, as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger looks to provide a replacement for Per Mertesacker, who is retiring at the end of the season. West Brom manager Alan Pardew is allegedly reluctant to sell the Northern Ireland international, but knows that he must do so if he wants to bring in players of his own.
