Arsenal‘s Community Shield celebrations have been somewhat soured with the news that Jack Wilshere is set to miss the start of the new season with yet another ankle injury, Guardian Sport reports. The England international was forced to miss the game against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon after picking up the knock in training and despite hopes that the midfielder would only be out for a matter of days, it's understood that the injury is worse than first feared and the 23-year-old is unlikely to be fit for the Gunners' opening Premier League game against West Ham United next Sunday.
