Aston Villa FAIL in move for ex-Arsenal man, but deal for Liverpool target still on

Aston Villa have been rebuffed in their efforts to sign former Arsenal man Gervinho from AS Roma, but could still sign Liverpool target Adem Ljajic from the club, reports the Daily Express.  The Villans had been hoping to bring the 28-year-old back to the Premier League, but Giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabatini has put an end to those hopes. However, they still have hope of signing Ljajic, who has made 72 appearances for the Roman side since arriving in 2013.  The attacking midfielder could bring much needed creativity to Tim Sherwood's side, who have scored only two goals in their first three matches.
