Per Mertesacker urges Arsene Wenger to bring forgotten star back to Arsenal

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has urged manager Arsene Wenger to bring Wojciech Szczesny back to the club once his loan spell with Roma comes to a close, the Daily Star reports. The Polish international is currently spending the season with the Serie A giants following Petr Cech's summer arrival from Chelsea. Szczesny didn't enjoy the greatest of seasons last term, and lost his place to deputy David Ospina midway through the campaign, and following Cech's arrival the 25-year-old slipped even further down the pecking order at the club.
