Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe says Mathieu Flamini should have seen red
Eddie Howe insisted that Mathieu Flamini should have been sent off for a two-footed tackle on Dan Gosling in the eighth minute of Arsenal’s 2-0 win at Bournemouth which, the manager argued, would have put a different complexion on a game in which the visitors finished up as comfortable winners. Howe said that Flamini’s challenge had been dangerous and put Gosling at risk of serious injury. Thankfully, the Bournemouth midfielder emerged unscathed but it was clear that he, too, was angry as he remonstrated with the referee, Kevin Friend.
