Agent confirms no contact from Arsenal over Napoli striker deal

Olivier Giroud's agent has squashed rumours of a potential swap deal between Arsenal and Napoli, with reports suggesting the Gunners were ready to splash serious cash for Gonzalo Higuain with Giroud included in the deal (via N). Arsenal are thought to be in the market for Higuain who could command a fee of up to £72million, and odd rumours surfaced suggesting Arsene Wenger may look to offset the huge transfer fee by including his compatriot Giroud in the deal. The 29-year-old's agent Michael Manuello denied the striker, who helped France reach the Euro 2016 final, is set for a move to Serie A and will link up with Arsenal ahead of the Premier League season.
