Kenny Sansom ‘ill in hospital’ as England and Arsenal legend battles to recover

Arsenal hero Kenny Sansom is undergoing treatment in hopsital, the 61-year-old’s family have confirmed. Sansom, who made 86 appearances for England, captained Arsenal during a glittering career. Before his move to Arsenal, he was twice named Crystal Palace’s player of the year and picked up the same gong in his first season with the Gunners. He fell on hard times after retiring, suffering from gambling problems and alcoholism. A tweet from Sansom’s account read: “Kenny is currently ill in hospital.
