Tottenham target shock deal for Maitland-Niles after Arsenal say he can go

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a shock move for Arsenal academy graduate Ainsley Maitland-Niles after he was told he was free to leave the Emirates this summer. The 22-year-old midfielder has been utilised as a makeshift full-back under both Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta this season, rarely featuring in his preferred role. According to the Mirror, Maitland-Niles was informed last week that he would be allowed to leave the club and the report claims that Spurs are interested. He is valued at around £30m by the Gunners and could become the first player to join Tottenham from Arsenal since Rohan Ricketts in 2002.
