Arsenal given Thomas Partey ultimatum by Atletico Madrid after £49.5m agreement

Arsenal will not be able to sign Thomas Partey this summer following Alvaro Morata's move to Juventus unless they pay his release clause, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Morata has rejoined Juventus on a season-long loan for around £8.2million, with the Old Lady having an option of making the deal permanent for a further £41.3m to take the total potential fee to £49.5m. Romano claims Atletico Madrid will have no financial need to sell another top player after Morata's exit.
