Mesut Ozil unlikely to play for Arsenal again after Europa League snub

Mesut Ozil has almost certainly played his last game for Arsenal after his bombshell omission from their Europa League squad. Misfit Ozil, the club’s highest-paid player on £350,000-a-week, has not played for the Gunners since March. And his name was absent from the 25-man Arsenal squad submitted to UEFA yesterday ahead of games against Rapid Vienna, Dundalk and Molde. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta also left misfit defender Sokratis and youngster William Saliba off the list. Sokratis saw a move to Napoli collapse before the transfer window shut, while Saliba has been offered on loan to several Championship clubs, including Brentford.
