Mesut Ozil and Mikel Arteta held face-to-face talks over Arsenal's Europa squad
Mikel Arteta hosted face-to-face showdown talks with Mesut Ozil to tell him he was being axed from the Arsenal squad. Ozil has not been included in the 25-man Europa League squad which was announced on Thursday. UEFA demand a set squad list and there are specific restrictions over foreign player involvement - and Arsenal needed to cut non-British stars. Ozil is yet to feature for Arsenal this season and now may well have played his final game for the club. He was one of the players left out of the European squad, alongside centre-back Sokratis.
