Thomas Partey's dad has revealed he had to convince his son to join Arsenal - by selling him the idea of getting Mikel Arteta's side back into the Champions League. Partey arrived at the Emirates from Atletico Madrid on transfer deadline day after the Gunners made a late decision to trigger the midfielder's £45million release clause. The 27-year-old Ghana international was high on Arsenal's list of targets all summer, and was believed to be keen on switching to the Premier League.
