Spotify CEO Daniel Ek's Arsenal takeover bid slammed due to artist pay scheme

Daniel Ek's Arsenal takeover bid has been met with opposition from music fans unhappy with the fee artists receive from having their songs streamed on Spotify. Ek, who is Spotify’s CEO and worth in the region of $4.7billion, launched his takeover bid last week after fans protested Stan Kroenke’s ownership of the club. “As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for @Arsenal as long as I can remember,” Ek wrote on Twitter. “If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring.” News of Ek’s interest might sound all well and good to Arsenal fans, but music lovers aren’t quite as pleased.
